The Environmental Plan
A well designed physical space is key to creating the foundation for effective instruction in the classroom.

This classroom is designed to include 18 students and three teachers. It has several centers, including:

A quiet nook that can occupy up to two students at a time.
- At its entrance, that classroom has 18 student cubbies, and a teacher’s closet, located to the left of the
entrance.
- It has an adjunct bathroom with three toilets and sinks.
- There are two other sinks in the classroom, both in art and science areas.
- There are three tables for all students, each occupying six students. There tables will serve students for
snack and lunch time, art projects, math, writing and manipulatives.
- There are six windows, and the classroom is facing north east.
- It has a piano, for me and the assigned music teacher.
- In the dramatic play area, there is also a puppet stage for puppet performances by kids and teachers.
- In the science and discovery area there is also a sand table and a water table.
- The class pet will be chosen by the children (fish/mouse/frog).
- The classroom has six plants and more located on the window seal.
- All walls inside the classroom are low to allow visual sight of the students, except for the bathroom wall.

*As much as possible, classroom furniture will be child-friendly, made out of natural materials, be safe and not pose any potential risks for the children (child-proof). Children will be encouraged to help keep the classroom clean and organized, and teacher will make sure that all centers are fully equipped at all times with the necessary items, replacing or exchanging what becomes unusable.
